I love this song, it's really cute. So, I think the meaning is quite obvious, he saw this girl and he's falling in love quite fast, it's kinda love at first sight, he just can't believe how amazing she is and starts to thinks and build up a whole beautiful life with her in his mind. |

This song is so sad, it always leaves me heart-broken. So, the couple in the song probably broke up because she was moving to California, and he keeps thinking that if they had some more time together, they could have fallen in love. That's what makes it so heart-breaking, it tells about a love that could have happened, but it didn't, their love was interrupted. That's the thing about the song, the disillusionment of an "almost". |

This will ever be my favorite song by McFLY,because it was the first I listened. So, this girl is about to leave him, and he's trying to find out why, he's wondering if she had some things she wasn't ready to tell him yet, and if he pushed her too far trying to know these things, what took her to lie to him: "was I too close for comfort, you're pushing me out when I'm wanting in" "All this time you've been telling me lies, hidden in bags that are under your eyes" He's just wondering if thats the reason the girl he loves is breaking up with him. |

I just love this song, it's beautiful. I think the song is about this guy, his lover probably was always all over him, "smothering" him with love and care, but he didn't know how to appreciate it, he probably wanted to "breath" without having his lover caring so much about him, he wanted freedom. Then, he messed up really bad, his lover probably got tired of caring and loving someone who didn't seem to love back and dumped him. As says the old saying "you only learn to appreciate the value of the things after you lose it", he realized he loved his lover just as much and now wants his lover to take him back, to smother him with love and care again, that's why: "Now I can breath, turn my insides out and smother me, warm and alive I'm all over you, would you smother me?" |
