Hole – Best Sunday Dress Lyrics 12 years ago
This was written during the time before Hole came around. Courtney wrote it with Kat Bjelland who was the lead singer for the all-female grunge band Babes in Toyland. i believe they wrote it together, and both had their own version of the song later on.
in hole's interlude (on their Pretty on the Inside album) Star Belly, the fade-out song playing at the very end is this song, best sunday dress. it's a live version of courtney and kat performing it.

I absolutely love this song. it combines both styles of courtney and kat, i think. It's very poetic, and i love the tune to it.

Hole – Dying Lyrics 12 years ago
Dying is one of my most favorite songs by hole, but it is also my favorite song off the Celebrity Skin album. Lyrically, it is definitely one of my most favorite songs. just everything about the song is just really moving. i listen to it almost every day on spotify, and almost everyone i show it to falls in love with it.

honestly, how would i know what its about? its really none of my business. maybe its about kurt, maybe its about someone else, maybe its about her own struggles with herself. the point of music is to listen to it & relate to it on your own terms. not to try to guess what the artist was feeling or what he/she wrote it about. just feel the music.

I definitely think courtney is one of the strongest lyricist in music history. she is so talented and i love her music with Hole. i hope she will continue to stick around longer.

Alicia Keys – Like You'll Never See Me Again Lyrics 12 years ago
This is probably one of my most favorite alicia keys song. It's a very emotional song.. alicia keys voice here is just absolutely beautiful, and you can really feel her pain throughout. you can tell she truly means every word that she says in this song. even though the song itself has a rather positive message, there is still that other side to it - that heartbreak feeling when you've lost love or someone so dear to you. I think thats why its such a great song. and the production of it as well is phenomenal; really just love the mellow string cortet.

I watched an old interview of Alicia back in '07, when she was talking about the As I Am album. during the time before it was released, she talked about having a lot of ups & downs in her life. she got to a point of feeling very melancholy and down a lot. She just didnt know where she wanted to take things. a few months before the release of As I Am, she visited Egypt and parts of Europe, and said how much it really changed her whole life and her whole perspective of things. she said it just made her a stronger person, and she said it really gave her some time to take a break and heal. apparently some of the songs were written before she left to egypt, and some songs were written after. but its cool to hear how the whole album grows in general. On some of the tracks (such as Go Ahead, Like Youll never see me again, lesson learned, the thing about love, tell you something) you can really feel her pain. it is also rumored that she had gotten teary while singing in the studio for like youll never see me again & the thing about love.

alicia keys in general is just an amazing artist. in my opinion shes the only r&b artist nowadays who just sits down (piano or not) and just sings her heart out. for me, shes a very big influence. her lyrics speak to me. Her songs just pierce your soul whether they are the songs from Songs in a Minor or Element of Freedom.
