I love this song musically. Lyrically its a bit difficult to pin. He seems to be borrowing vaguely from Carl Jung's "individuation" or the journey of discovering's one divine self as the unconscious of the male, this archetype finds expression as a feminine inner personality: anima; equivalently, in the unconscious of the female it is expressed as a masculine inner personality: animus. The song title "Beat the Bright out of Me" and the lyric "Everyone wants a taste of the light but me!" appears to give a shrug to illumination or luciferian influenced ideology. The mention of Crowley here is nearly confirming in this regard. Ultimately Mr. Bashi appears to acknowledge but reject all these things in the cryptic little piece. And ultimately, I could be completely wrong. |

| I believe the family in Downtown Abbey are the Crawleys. Not the Crowleys. | |
