Ravage01 might be right about the lyrics being the point of view of a woman. From my point of view, it's actually a dialogue - the clean vocals being the woman, the death vocals being the man. The song title says what it's all about: a revelation. The lyrics tell what kind of revelation: the "darkness" that was hidden inside the man, which brings the relationship to an end. This "darkness" probably led the man to infidelity or some form of violence against her. The revelation is shocking - and the drapery falls for both of them. For the woman, because she loved and trusted him, based on the image she had about him (innocence). For the man, because he probably faced his "dark side" and its consequences for the first time. Nothing makes sense for both of them, something that increases their pain. |
