They both wrote several songs about eachiother during their rollercoaster of a relationship, some not so nice (Call Me When You're Sober and Fake It are the most popular 2 from the artists). | |

There was a 3m period when this song was new that my husband and I (we weren't married yet) broke up and this song was my obsession. Now that we are where wa are today I just LOVE this song. It is so beautiful. It's about a couple that can't live with out eachother and would do anything for eachother. They feel lost when the other is gone. |

This song reminds me of getting pregnant and married at 16 to my high school boyfriend. Here is why. First couple verses was the hope where we knew it would be really hard but we had eachother so we would get through it. However, we were so young we had no clue what we were getting into. We truely believed we were ready. "send a heart to all my dearies When your life is so, so dreary, dream I'm rumored to the straight and narrow While the harlots of my perils scream" This is the begining of the "doom" he insisted he was faithul but he was far from it. When I started getting down basically I was on my own left to dream about what life would of been had I decided not to grow up so fast. "And I'll fail But when I can, I will Try to understand That when I can, I will" We both failed. We both and even now 15 yrs later always understand eachother and are always there for eachother BUT its "when we can" or convient. We have teenage kids together and only 30. THe regret on missing out on being a teenager, the understanding to our parents for warning us and being upset, and done with the suffering we were putting eachother thru for the sake of trying to prove them all to still be wrong. We were done feeling bad for them, ourselves and eachother. We just wanted to go our seperate ways and start new. No more fake promises, no more hurting eachother emotionally, we are finally our own person and get to know and love ourselves.
