It sounds like it's telling a story about a guy who kills somebody, he's too scared to do it "is there a better way", so he takes the "blue pill". He kills him and instantly regrets it"Is it too late to go back?" And then it's him sat in a room with this corpse tripping out on the "blue pill" and getting pissed off about how it had to come to what it did "there's noone here (helping out) And people everywhere You're on your own (Nobody deserves my help anymore) "Let's see if I'm hearing this right"(debating with himself) "A never ending supply to carry out the dead" (Overdose and the bad things will go away by themselves) What he thinks will happen if he gets found out "Your idols burn in the fire" (nobody's on his side) "The mob comes crawling out"(Police? Authority? angry public/victim's family?) Decides that death's the best option "I'm reclaming my mind"(Taking it away from anybody else, keeping his thoughts locked away in his corpse) "Destroying everyone"(He'll never have meet anyone again, effectively destroying them) Last stansa saying how is last thoughts were that nobody helped helped him and he doesn't owe anybody anything |

This reminds of leg of lamb by Queens of the stone age, that song's about how looking for a nice partner for the night is like looking for a nice joint of meat- I took that and I thought maybe metallica think of it as a hunt "Taking of the fallen lamb"? Maybe an easy kill? A vulnerable girl who wants to cuddle up to somebody for that night and is an easy fuck? Also how you let all primal instinct take control in sex just like a feeding frenzy in a pack of wolves after a kill. "So seek the wolf in thyself" Maybe that's telling you that world's much more ordered when you're looking for chaos, you'll enjoy "hunting" somebody more than you'll enjoy trying to persuade somebody |
