Black – Wonderful Life Lyrics 12 years ago
I don't think the song is filled with irony, too. In my opinion – and this is where I agree with MuminPL – it's a free man seeing the beauty of the world. While feeling Beauty, you don't need to show your emotions; you feel the world and the world feels you (No need to laugh and cry / It's a wonderful life / No need to run and hide / It's a wondeful life). However, not so many people embrace freedom in such a way. That's why he says "You know it feels unfair / There's magic everywhere": unfair can be other people to themselves not admiring the (simple) beauty of their lives; but unfair also seems his position of a free being among them, and this is what he underlines in the lyrics. Such a position in contrast to others makes him feel that people hate him "just because he's there (standing)" (as a free man). That's why I think he needs a friend whom he can share this with.

But, whatever the case, such a beautiful song can hardly be an irony.
