"Cause I am afraid of the light Yeah, you know what I mean And I can't sleep alone at night Yeah, you know what I mean" The lyrics are contradicting themselves. I'm going to take a jab at it though and say what I think the meaning of being afraid of the light means. Most people are afraid of the dark because they don't know what may appear; she is afraid of the light because she's already experienced the dark of not knowing. Being able to know the outcome of something because of prior happenings is what she is afraid of. Ex: Recently in your relationship you and your significant other have been fighting often and it's gotten really bad. So bad that possibly at any time you guys could break up. The series coming from the first fight (the dark) to the domino effect of inclining fights leads to the light of knowing the relationship is over. |
