"so we are all drinking, as leaves fall to the ground" refers to the celebration in memory of the October revolution etc. which are accompanied by copious alcohol comsumption, "how October's let us down, then and now".. The 'then' refers of course to the October revolution and the establishment of the Soviet Union which promised much but ultimately did not really result in the glorious future that it promised. I am unsure of which October the 'and now' is referring though. Likely some events one October near the dissolution of the Soviet Union, and (again) the promises of a better future which may not come to fruition either.. which gives the drunken parties another, more melancholy dimension. Outwardly these are celebations of the past events, but inwardly also include some resignation because of the broken promises of the past and unsure future.. "Shall we remember, December instead" is a clear reference to teh Decembrist uprising in (then still) imperial Russia in 1825, "or worry about February" a reference to the beginnig of the Revolution in February 1917 (The Tsar abdicated on 1 March 2017). "morn our war-torn dead, never seeing red' refers to those (comrades) who died in WW! (and possibly the Februar Revolution up to the Octber Revolution) and never got to see the success of the Soviets (reds) and the establishment of their own state. |

| Black – Wonderful Life Lyrics | 9 years ago |

I thknk the the first verse is about someone finally getting back into a life for themselves after ... (a bad romance, breakup or such) and now being able to 'stand straight again'. The second verse is about that person (later) being ready to get into a relationship again, neding a friend. So n both cases I think this about a positive thing. first: freedom, no longer being dependent, despondent etc, secondly abel to get back into a ligfe shared with someone else |

| I think there is a delberate disconnect. The girl is out for (good) fun, is having a good tie, not with the intention of it having to end in sex, while the guy is out to get laid. | |

I think this is about a composer confused about what to make of the fall of the Soviet Republic and the looming future, which may bring either good, bad of both. His feelings are strongly influenced by his upbringing, in which the revolution was idolized, but also by the looming changes which may bring much good. It reflects the insecurity of the people going through this phase, their loss of 'security in what they kow/were taught' vs their hopes for change. |

| Fischer-Z – Pretty Paracetamol Lyrics | 13 years ago |

This is clearly (?) about someone with mental illness problems. Paracetamol is a painkiller (Panadol,Tylenol) The 'aching brow' could just indicate a headache, but then we hear about it taking an hour to 'take him down' (apparently being in agitated state). Trying to force the 'arms'(not eyes) out sideways is hindered by a straightjacket The narrator also doesn't recognize himself in the mirror (and maybe has vision problems, posisbly doublevision, indicated by 'them') The 'first impressions often lie' line could however mean that the narrator is falsely considered mad (and kept drugged/restraint). This could be supported by 'it don't help me' and 'I've lost control', though all this could also apply to really metally ill person. Thus the sone leaves us wondering whether this is a cry for help by someone is mentally ill or by someone who is falsely (maliciously?) treated as such... |
