I think this song is about taking something for granted and suddenly loosing it due to unforeseen circumstances. Suddenly everything changes around you and you aren't quite sure why it is happening. The main themes that I get from this song are, loneliness, confusion, sadness and some anger. I love every Paramore song but this is a strong contender for being a favourite from All We Know Is Falling. Helped me through alot. |

Everytime I listen to this song (and that is alotta times) I always think of different ways that it could be interpreted. And I never have quite figured out the fixed meaning of it and thats okay. That is what makes this song beautiful. One way that I think it could be interpreted is as a response to the audience. 'Sing us a song and we'll sing it back to you. We could sing our all but what would it be without you'. Fans and audience mean everything to Paramore. It could be looked at as being an appreciation song for the fans to thank them for being awesome fans and sticking by them through thick and thin. This song was written early on in Paramore's career so loyal and true fans were crucial and very much appreciated and I honestly think that this could be the meaning behind it! This could change next time I hear it though....... |

This song describes someones struggles with unrequited love or in the teen sense 'crushes'. It is a complete curse to have feelings towards someone who doesn't care or maybe doesn't even know. Not knowing where you stand with someone and feeling helpless/feelings of confusion. - 'Your silence haunts me But still I hunger for you' The person that the author has strong feelings for doesn't care/ appear bothered but still, the curse of attraction towards the person does not disappear. It will remain. The first few lines are similar again: 'I watch you walk away Helpless with nothing to say I strain my eyes Hoping to see you again' This is just a personal interpretation! |

Personally, this song captivates the constant struggle and burden that I deem sexual attraction to guys to be. It's always there. It is like light to flies. You know that it will burn in the end but you can't help but succumb to it all. I'm telling you, if you run, you WILL be burned. Again, this is just my interpretation and it is quite personal but this is what I love about art. The opportunity to interpret it in your own ways. |
