the (tower) to me is a tarot card reference which usually has to do with the ego, the tower card is shown crumbling and in disrepair mostly. yr ego is always being destroyed only for you to build it back up again. this happens over n over, can happen in a matter of minutes hours or whatever. To me its a song about self reflection, doubt that ego is the true self, fear of what the ego can do to the soul.(spinning in a field) sounds like when the tower is falling and ( all yr recollections) is you desperately trying to keep it together on the way down.( frightened eyes) is your seeing soul seeing yr ego. IDK when i hear Victoria n her words i get a early pagan/pre christian/high priestess vibe . im sure that i am stretching here but hey im probably on some trip and Beach house is filling the "artist in which i desperately need to feel connected in my fantasy/escapism wtf reality that ive gotten my self into:)" void perfectly. |
