There seems to be hatred everywhere and "all the lonely ones are left hiding". He's been watching her and he's taken everything he can from her. She refused to listen and now she's suffering; he doesn't want/need to see her inevitable crash. "You're bored to tears I'll keep you here but you won't listen" She's tired of this life she carved for herself and he agrees to stay connected but he knows she'll just keep messing up and think she's right when she really isn't and is for the worse. |

It's about looking to god/religion when you need to. "Inside i'm gone" means he feels empty and needs something to grasp onto or something to believe in. "we are strong but we're dumb" We can do things ourselves and live our lives how we think we should, but in the end we're ignorant if continue to disregard god and his rules. "Trusting the instinct Is not about what you think The one reaction is only to obey" Trust yourself and your experiences and not about what science or even doubt tells you. Not everyone agrees though and there are going to be arguments and disagreements, you may even doubt sometimes but you should still trust in Him and obey. |

"I try to cancel out Whatever I can't laugh about" "I've done my worst and no one knows" "One more day to fool them all One more day to drop the ball One more day to fade away" It's a song about doing the same thing over and over and failing every time and not being able to improve, but he's been getting away with it every time. Each day he makes the same mistakes and it doesn't seem to matter. Whatever about it he can't enjoy/understand, though, he ignores or "cancels out". "Fill a head with sand just to make it better I had the chance to beat it in but I never I should have taken it right then" He's had chances to make things better or to make things less stressful/depressing/demanding, but he's always looked over them or disregarded them as unimportant. He sometimes wishes he could go back and take those chances. My interpretation, sort of a deep song from an awesome album. |

"Let me in And let me go Tell me that I need to know" Its about the end of a relationship; they've both been through a lot and he needs her to let him know how she feels/felt one last time and then be done with it. "Swallow the key swallow the key You feel compelled but its far too late to try and tell me now So I'll try to suck it out Open mouth feels warm Secrets swollen so sore" To "swallow the key" means to get rid of the desire for her to tell him so he has to find out himself; once he does, he gets those familiar feelings back but finds the words to be long overdue. "We all know and we can't ask why You turned into an ugly butterfly That shape of you Closes in and forms a shade of grey Hanging over hanging me" She has lost what made him love her and she has turned into something completely different now; he can't get her old self back and it has been haunting him since. "Sorry you're gone The voices they left me thinking The words that I've forgotten now Try to come but can't come out" He feels bad that the person he knew doesn't exist anymore and he's left wondering what could have been different or where their relationship started to slip. He comes up with what he should have/could have said but he can't tell her anymore. |
