Most would say that this song is about someone special in her life, and, yes that is true. However, more specifically, I would say it's about her relationship with her Father (God, Yahweh, her papa). We see this here: "Here in the stillness, the quiet place, Where I'm lying with a down turned face" here: "It's you who brings the morning And you who takes the sun when I sleep You're the only one that stuck around For me when I was losing faith in what I thought I would be You're the only one in the dark I see" (Pretty much the whole chorus) When I first heard this song, I cried. As she said in the original video, this is a positive song. I find it a song which gives me hope and inspires me. I truly hope it inspires you as well. |
