I recently watched her live stream (can't remember the host anymore). She indeed confirmed that she wrote 'Lilies' after having a writer's block. She watched an old 70s-80s love movie where that woman waits for her lover to return from war. And as he does, she runs up towards him through a field of lilies. She especially noted the line 'Thank God I'm alive!' to refer to the end of her inspirational drought. |
