Here are my two cents.. This song could easily be interpreted as the remorse of success.. And to some extent I believe it is, but as with many TOOL songs I think it's layered. I've often imagined this song in correlation with nature, the Sun singing a song to the Earth, Moon, and surrounding bodies, life, etc. A kind of back and forth duet.. for example: "Up to my neck soon to drown.." (the Sun setting) "But you changed that all for me, lifted me up turned me round" (directed toward the moon).. lol I know it's kind of far out but when you look at the song from this perspective It gives it a new spin! |
