| I feel like how this song starts out "I'm running out of time, I'm feeling out of bounds, I know there is no such things as either of them but...doesn't make me feel any better," this is talking about the idea of time and limitations. Constantly within this society we must conform to specific times (time didn't always exist) and are surrounded by boundaries that prevent us from fully being... and this is truly insane. That is why we are out of time, out of sight, and out of mind... because we have seriously lost the meaning of living and being. Its almost as if once you become a 'young adult' or 'adult' you must suddenly have no fun and be very strict with guidelines because this is 'responsible'.... but really, this is just bizarre. | |

Wow, brandon boyd never fails to develop analytical, thought provoking lyrics! This song most definitely pertains to the fact that nature is being replaced by shopping malls, buildings, roads, etc that disconnect us further from nature and 'reality'. Everyone is conforming to the capitalistic ways of society. He is trying to say to get out of your cage, meaning get away from the uniformity and find the truth. However, he also states 'you can sing aloud, but no one hears if no one is listening' which basically says if everyone is unaware they won't understand your radical point of view (which is to not conform). This song expresses a type of thought I can relate to! |

Ok, wow to the person who thinks this song is about a blowjob! Incubus doesn't talk about meaningless topics such as blowjobs. All their lyrics have double meanings and talk about society and a lot of political issues. I personally LOVE this song because it gives hope to those who see the world as a 'fucked up and cold place.' The song states 'not everyone here is that fucked up and cold,' its a motivational song for those who are put down by this world. Its saying to experience life, or the good things in life before you grow old and are too tired or weary. Its saying to not be scared, don't let fear overwhelm you or keep you from experiencing much more although you want to be away from it all at times. Its sad and hopeful all at once :) |

Ok, Want2Lrn has it right, at least I think. Anna Molly is not talking about a person... think about the way its sung. Its really meant to mean anomaly, which means deviation from the norm or common order, which is something incubus talks about in many of their songs, making them AMAZING. To me it sounds like the song is talking about a spiritual experience (which is also prevalent in many of the songs). It doesn't mean a 'christian' spiritual experience, but just an eye opening event, almost like a 3rd eye opening (like in the video). Awesome song, like every other! |
