Ed Sheeran – The A Team Lyrics 13 years ago
I've decided to inerpretate it, one or two lines at a time, as I think there's a lot of metaphors and other things in this song. Basically it's about a young girl who've become a prostitute out of need, and doesn't like it. In the end, she dies, simply out of misery and cold. But it's also about how society is getting too closed to allow people like her second chances.

White lips, pale face - she's tired, she's gone too often.
Breathing in snowflakes - But she's still happy, she can still go around and enjoy the fact that it's snowing.
Burnt lungs, sour taste - she's been smoking, although she doesn't like it. Most like some so-called friends made her.

Lights gone, days end - she doesn't know what to do with herself anymore, she simply lives on
Struggling to pay rent - she makes a little money, which she spends on some small house or something like that, or just uses to pay some homeless guy for sharing his shelter.
Long nights, strange men - she's a prostitute

And they say
She's in the class A team - they, meaning the middle class, those who consider themselves above a prostitute, believe that she's on drugs, and doesn't want anything to with her because of that.
Stuck in her daydream - same they believes that she's dreaming about a proper home, but will never achieve it because she doesn't make an effort
Been this way since eighteen - she was eighteen years old when all her struggles started
But lately her face seems
Slowly sinking, wasting
Crumbling like pastries - in the last few months, she've seemed much sadder than usual, much more down, much more depressed, as though it's all getting too much

And they scream
The worst things in life come free to us - we're nicely up here in our little warm houses with our hot food, and we don't care about what's happening to her, because we're fine ourselves.
'Cause we're just under the upper hand - We are well ourselves, thank you very much
And go mad for a couple grams - If we get the slightest hint anyone's on drugs we'll go to any lengths to avoid them, without listening to truth
And she don't want to go outside, tonight - she doesn't want to go find a man disgusting enough to have sex with a girl for money, she's tired of it, she wants to get out of it
And in a pipe she flies to the motherland - she tries to get away, tries to get out of prostitution
Or sells love to another man - she just can't get out, she needs to keep up, or she'll die
It's too cold outside
For angels to fly, for angels to fly - the world we live in is getting too efficient, too cold for goodness. There's so few modern people who have the space in their hearts to let a young woman have a little food, borrow a soft bed, just for one night, to help her get out of prostitution. It's just not happening. It's too cold for angels, for goodness to exist.

Ripped gloves, raincoat - her clothes is torn and destroyed
Tried to swim and stay afloat - she tries to drown herself, just to get out of her misery, but she can't
Dry house, wet clothes - she comes home, and her house may be dry, but if she takes off her clothes she doesn't have anything else to wear, and then she'll freeze to death anyway, so what's the point

Loose change, bank notes - this is what she gets payed
Weary-eyed, dry throat - she's getting tired of everything, she's not sleeping because she has to work, she doesn't get enough food or drink because she doesn't have access to it
Cool girl, no phone - she's just a normal person, but without the privileges that so many take for granted

Its too cold outside
For angels to fly - it's too cold a world for goodness to exist
An angel will die - goodness is dying
Covered in white - gone, covered in misery, unable to be seen because of all the misery around it, but goodness is there, someone just has to take it
Closed eye
And hoping for a better life - daydreaming, hoping against hope that it'll be OK
This time, we'll fade out tonight
Straight down the line - dying, quietly and without any pain or bother

Ed Sheeran – Autumn Leaves Lyrics 13 years ago
I think the verses are about accepting the world as it is "Another tear, another cry, another place for us to die it's not complicated." People will keep crying, people will keep shedding tears, there will keep being places to die, it's not particularly complicated, and you just have to accept it, because that's how the world is.

Then, in the chorus, it's a bit more said. "Do you ever wonder if the stars shine out for you?" I believe this is like "Do you believe in God?" and is supposed to ask if this person thinks there's someone out there protecting him/her, if there's someone out there to make the desicions and make them give sense, in the end. "Float down like autumn leaves." I think this means "come back." Come back, let your sould float back to Earth. "Close your eyes before the sleep." Close your eyes when you die, don't let me see the light leave your eyes. "You're miles away." I believe this means that he/she is in Heaven. "Yesterday you were here with me." That doesn't need any interpretation, it states quite plainly what it means. Maybe no yesterday, but not long ago, either.

Then there's the second verse. The first three lines are the same as the first verse, but the next part is different. "Another love that's gone to waste, another light gone from your face, it's complicated." This is more like, "now you are dead, I have lost the one I love, you're even weaker, I can't reach you anymore, I don't know what to do," as if he's trying to get a response.

"Is it that it's over or do birds still sing for you?" I think this means, "Now that you now, do you still believe in God?" And is pretty much the same as "Do you ever wonder if the stars shine out for you?" except, in the second chorus, it's more asking for confirmation than asking for an opinion on the subject.

"My symphony played the song that carried you out." I believe this means that he was singing to him/her. Perhaps singing a lullaby, trying to make the person fall asleep so that death would be gentler, and then the last thing the person hears is the sound of the voice, singing him/her to sleep.
