I definitely think this song is all about the media and what it does to people... "When you're looking for truth on the cover of a magazine How does it feel
When you find out what you're not gonna be" i think this gives it away because it's like the beauty magazines like "teen", "seventeen", etc. that have those quizzes that tell you who you are and who you aren't going to be... "They give you your image and the things you believe Open your eyes tell me what did you see " this also gives off the idea of how the media tries to show how an ideal person should be and the way people do anything to be "model perfect" but the guy singing the song wants to know how people are really affected by this. "When it's all about money and the things that you need Live a big lie and they all believe " everyone is convinced that in one way or another, money is an absolute necessity for success in life- and this image is shown through the media as well... and finally, "Lies weigh more than truth Innocence looks good on you
Now everybody wants to know your name" shows how when you're the person that the media has been trying to mold you into, everyone wants to know you- which goes to show how fake people can be when it comes to caring about someone. This is just my interpretation, but it makes sense, eh?! ;)

the thing i love about this song (besides the feeling it gives me) is i can relate to it in so many different ways depending on my moods... i mean i think the ideas about orphans and wrist-slitting and all that is amazing and totally possible but at the same time i find it so nice how i can relate to it no matter what, dontcha think? ;) |

I think this is about a guy who has a friend or girlfriend or something who is having so many problems and they think that no one notices or cares but the guy singing (especially when he says "cause every word that left your lips is like a needle through my heart") is kind of hurt by what the other person is saying... |

| The Goo Goo Dolls – Naked Lyrics

I definitely think this song is about being alone as well... Alone and insecure... It is known that dreaming about being naked represents insecurity so that definitely relates... But the fact that it's about someone that's just dying to be noticed and screaming for attention.. Especially the "inside your head- no one's there- and i dont think i'll ever be- and i dont care" i think that's amzing because it's just a complete turning point for the entire song... The guy wants t be noticed throughout the whole song and at the end its almost like "who cares if u dont notice me? screw you!" i can definitely relate... but i dont think it's necessarily about a boy and a girl.. i mean it could be about friends or family or anything really.. that's what i love most about the goo goo dolls... not all their songs are love songs if u know what i mean... ;) |

I think this song is so beautiful it's insane... Definitely one of most amazing songs ever written... To me, it seems like this song is about an very insecure relationship between two people.. Almost as if the person singing doesn't know the other person well enough for their relationship to be realistic (to him, the other person is a sweet charade)... I dunno but that's the way i see it.. ;) |

| The Goo Goo Dolls – Two Days In February Lyrics

A year ago I moved away from a country i lived in for four years and I left behind someone extremely important to me. So this song definitely related to me the first few months when i was completely depressed and homesick. One of my closest friends that i left behind was having all these problems and i felt bad for not being with him but he wasnt with me either so it was like "what can i do???" and even though at first it was hard and after a few months my feelings changed from "I know you're living way out west and I don't think that I confessed Everything I feel" to "
I know you're living way out west Don't get me wrong I'm not impressed With you no more"... So i think it is about leaving someone behind either physically by moving away or by just drifting apart and slowly getting over it...

I always thought this song was about abortion as well but after reading about the possibility of being about drugs as well... It completely clicked!! Especially that comment about using black balloons when preparing for a heroine injection... Damn! I forget who said that but that was good... This is definitely an awesome song... |
