| She & Him – Change Is Hard Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
It's all about getting over someone. Someone that you loved, but didn't love you back (or didn't feel the same way). The guy was in love with someone else all along (maybe an ex-girlfriend), or fell in love with someone new. The singer feels like she's nothing compared to the girl he loves. "I did him wrong I was never no, never no, never enough" For me it's kind of her 'wondering', if she have done things differently, the guy could love her. But The next line, she realizes she never could be enough. Now she wants to toughen up, to be stronger, because it's a miserable situation when you are with someone that doesn't appreciates you. So she decides to change, toughen up, and stop seeing the guy. Following the advices of her friends (people who are outside the situation and can see things more rationally). Well, as I listen to this song, I relate myself very much to it. I have been with someone that was clearly still in love with his ex. So I knew he wasn't mine and could never be. And people told me to let go and stop seeing him. I didn't wanted to, but after a while I did it. Getting over is hard. We are not talking. Things changed and it's very hard. I knew, but I should've known better. |

| Exactly the same thing for me. I liked it before I could relate to it. Now I can relate and I understand... He reminds me of what I really am: a stupid girl, that would give my heart to someone that doesn't really care about me. | |

| I agree! I also would like to point out the feeling of insecurity. For me, some parts of the lyrics are saying that the person is trying to love and hope, but at the same time is very insecure. She has nothing to hold on. It's hard to learn/love when he gives her nothing, just sweet but empty words. It's hard to learn and love and it's hard to let go. She's kinda stuck in the middle. She doesn't really no what to do. That's a terrible feeling I would say. | |
