The Wonder Years – Passing Through a Screen Door Lyrics 12 years ago
Also, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the reference to Me vs. The Highway - It looks like the highway won.

But I was kinda hoping you'd stay...

The Wonder Years – Passing Through a Screen Door Lyrics 12 years ago
God. This song just gets me. Especially after reading the interview that came out with the release of this song- we never are going to find true stability and keep it. It literally illustrates my biggest fears. The allusion of the stability of a family, or a home, or a job. It can be ripped out from under you within a split second. I feel okay right now- but I know what it's like to be that kid waiting for a bomb to fall, running out of control on loose gravel. The thought of going through life feeling like that again literally brings me to tears. This song is exactly about that for me, and that moment where you kind of wish you had taken the opportunity to even have that sense of stability and, theoretically speaking, doing what you're supposed to be doing.

Man Overboard – Montrose Lyrics 12 years ago
Totally reminds me of the first time I hung out with my ex after we broke up. It had been months, but for whatever reason, we agreed that we needed to see each other. This song perfectly captures that nostalgic feeling of seeing an old flame, that suppressed hurt that bubbles up, telling yourself not to give in, EVERYTHING. I can't say that I care for this guy anymore (we ended up getting back together, and I can say I got the closure I needed in the first place haha), but damn, this song, musically and lyrically, just fucking does it.

It also reminds me of Jimmy Eat World, which is crazy, because "A Praise Chorus" is what gave me the guts to go after him, anyway. It's sort of like the old me meets the new me haha.

Paramore – Now Lyrics 13 years ago
This song is definitely about being face to face with the end and rising from the ashes. Paramore has been through a lot in the past few years, and this song definitely typifies their sort of "rebirth."
