| Mac DeMarco – Cooking Up Something Good Lyrics | 10 years ago |
| Seems to me like young Mac wasn't very happy living in his house so he kept to himself and smoked/played guitar | |

I think it's way more simple. I believe this is the singer realizing that he has fallen in love. Sort of like he's putting two and two together. He has these feelings in the verses he's never felt before, but he can't figure out why. And then the chorus is him realizing that he's in love. |

The song is brilliant, because on one hand he's talking about nothing (just generally what's on his mind). But on the other hand, he's talking about life so honestly that it gives you a very personal look into his mind. Simply put, this song is life. |

| Lovely tune. | |
| Generationals – Goose & Gander Lyrics | 11 years ago |

I think it's about a mutual breakup. For whatever reason the relationship has reached it's end but they still communicate. This communication kills him and the only way it will get better is if they don't talk. "It's just that it won't get better 'til you leave me alone". Also the line, "We can't stand each other but we can't be apart", clearly indicates they want to be away from each other but can't do it because of how attached they are. |

| I disagree. I think it means if you still bleed you haven't been turned cold by the world yet. And for that you're lucky | |
| The Avett Brothers – Pretty Girl from Annapolis Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| The versions with "Is this Love?" is just too perfect | |
| The Avett Brothers – The Greatest Sum Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
This song isn't sad. In fact it's very romantic and powerful. In this verse, "This and who I used to be don’t matter much at all to me The pit you dug to plant your feet’s a far cry from my destiny" He's saying that he's nothing like what he thought he'd be, but he's ok because he's with her and everything has changed. His "destiny" doesn't matter anymore because of her. Second verse "Dark and lonely is the ride the devil always by my side Though no match for what lies between a thought of you, your trust for me" He's saying that the devil is all around him, but he's no match for the love he has for her. Third verse, "No count of gold placed in my hand the largest find, the greatest sum Though some would say it’d easy our pain we know that it can’t be done" He's saying that the money is said to be the source of happiness. But he says its not and implies that, for him, his girl is what eases his pain. |

| Johnny Flynn – The Prizefighter and the Heiress Lyrics | 12 years ago |

I think it's about a fight he had with his now wife. It looked like he was ready to end the whole relationship, and then he rested on it and woke up realizing he didn't want to do that. He realized that they have a rough road ahead but he's willing to weather that for her. "Me and my dream As me and my girl Have more than A thousand square miles to twirl" |

| I think he says "we'll hide out" not "where I hide and" | |
| Caesars – Jerk It Out Lyrics | 12 years ago |

This song can mean so many different things. I think the Meth one is the right one. But before I read that I really thought it might be a breakup song and he's finally getting his energy and freedom back and he's over the chick. And also it could be about masturbation too, I guess. |

| The Avett Brothers – I Would Be Sad Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I love how Seth just takes over midway through, and then Scott comes back in right at the end. | |
| Timothy Seth Avett As Darling – The Mourning, The Silver, The Bell Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
This song is tough to read. I think seth is dealing with a breakup and his mind is all over the place("I could love her, I could kill her"). So this song just kind of paints a picture of how messed up his mind is after this break up ("The grass is orange and the sky is green"). He's stuck between hoping it goes back to the way it was and moving on. |

| The Lumineers – Slow It Down Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Reading takatsch's comment had a weird effect on me. It made me think about the relationship I just got out of and made me pretty sad. But the end where he talks about never looking back oddly made me smile. Don't look back. The future is vast. | |
