| Kyla La Grange – The River Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| It's about being afraid of death and what comes afterwards. The vain of not existing anymore. She cannot ignore or deny the thoughts concerning death, it's an obsession. That's why everything in life seems contemporary to her and she's felt this profound sadness, maybe even depression, eversince she was a little child. There is nothing to do about how she feels, so she just hopes that one day the fear will be gone and she'll adjust to the thought of death. | |
| Lucy Rose – Night Bus Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
I've always imagined this song was about a girl catching the night bus home from the hospital where somebody she loves lies in a coma or severely injured idk. And so she keeps telling her she's not alone despite the strangers all around her. And she's not phased by the darkness in her soul, because she got used to it, the trouble had been there since forever (idk maybe she had hard time growing up). She's talking to herself to console herself, so she doesn't feel lonely. But it might as well be more general, about a girl who's alone and detatched from reality, living her daydream, surrounded by imaginary friends ('I'm not alone'), and the whole story is told from the perspective of someone (boy?girl?) who usually takes the same night bus and notices her at some point, sees all the trouble in her eyes. |

| Daughter – Peter Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
This song is about being in a relationship with an immature person, unable to commit, who on top of all that has a strong feelings towards another girl. There is an obvious comparision to the well-known story of Peter Pan. She is Wendy, now regretting coming to Neverland of his (his life), because all the Lost Boys have moved away (all his/their friends have grown up by this time). But one of them (Peter) is still locked up in Neverland, stucked in his fantasy. So she's fed up with him being immature and irresponsible, she says she couldn't give a fuck because he's a grown up now. She wants to go back home, leave him because she can't live like this anymore. She's swooped her dreams for his, to the point in which she's forgotten what it was that she had wanted. And now she came to realize this is pointless and she's not going to shut up about it 'like all the other dolls' (perhaps his ex-girlfriends, shallow and plastic, without enough nerve to speak up their minds). She is not naive, she can see how he feels about this other girl and how he will never feel the same way about her. She can recognize the love they never had. So this feeling of rejection and fatigue makes her numb and perhaps even a bit suicidal (in the book the Sirens were trying to drown Wendy, so maybe she just waits for them to come and take her, because despite all that she still loves Peter, knowing that her love will remain unrequited). |

| Kyla La Grange – Vampire Smile Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| To me, the heroine of this song is not necesarily a plastic and shallow seducer. She might be a troubled woman with a darker side to her, a destructive personality that makes it impossible to have a 'normal' relationship. But she can't help herself and she wants this man, knowing at the same time she is going to bring him down, cut off his friendships. I agree with Persephone28 - it can't be about vampires, I bet the meaning is metaphorical. There is this term 'emotional vampire' aka someone who's toxic in a relationship and I think this song might refer to that. | |
| Oh Land – Break the Chain Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| To me this is about her personal experience. I remember reading an interview in which she said about having an accident at some point of her life which prevented her from pursuring a career as a professional ballet dancer. She said that she started to write songs out of sorrow that she felt after learning she won't be able to become a ballerina. I guess this song describes how she felt when she first learnt about this ("She said sorry but you're never gonna dance again" may refer to a doctor/nurse) and how she tries to overcome the physical inability ("my feet just keep me moving, trying to break the chain, and I feel like running"). | |
