Taking "the bomb" in its most literal sense, could the narrator's shyness and coyness be stopping him from telling (whoever) how he feels about them, possibly to such an extent that only in the event of a nuclear war, when he knows he has a finite amount of time left to live, could he summon the courage to tell them. I've felt this way about someone for the best part of four years, I know I don't have the confidence required to tell them, and unless circumstance forces me, I doubt I ever will. |
