Ok, here's what the song is about people. I worked this out on a very hazy night. It's about Manu Chao being lost in the world and not knowing where he fits in, yaknow, due to his multicultural nature and being kinda French kinda Spanish, you know. Here's the evidence, bitches. "Doce de la noche en La Habana, Cuba Once de la noche en San Salvador, El Salvador Once de la noche en Managua, Nicaragua" followed by "Que hora son mi corazon?" (what time is my heart). The man clearly does not know what 'time' his heart his, i.e. where in the world does he truly belong? To what time zone does his heart beat to? 2) This is further hinted at in the chorus. "Que voy a hacer, je suis perdu". Which means what am I going to do, I am lost. It's split between two different languages - this shows that he can't choose one COS HE FEELS LOST. 3) Listing the things he likes. He's trying to think about all the things he likes to see if they can help him find out where he belongs. Me gusta la Coruña, me gustas tu Me gusta Malasaña, me gustas tu Me gusta la Castaña, me gustas tu Me gusta Guatemala, me gustas tu. He likes ALL of those places and more. But which is truly for him?
