Britney Spears – Piece of Me [Album Version] Lyrics 13 years ago
I believe it was Cleveland Amory who said it best:

The defintion of a celebrity is a person who works hard to become well-known, then wears sunglasses so no one recognizes them.

Nine Inch Nails – Physical (Adam and the Ants cover) Lyrics 13 years ago
Right now I am trying very hard to not throw up. A friend of mine is a NIN fan, and as soon as this song started, I actually stuck my fingers in my ears and went "la la la" then yelled at her to skip the track. You see, I was fan of *name* (not Trent Reznor) for about 10 years. Nearly every single song he did had some kind of sexual reference, in fact he would end every concert with this song while slowly removing his shirt. This song is exactly what it sounds like. " Forget dinner, forget the movie, we're going back to my place and f*ck until we bleed."

I swore I would never be a fan of a Brit ever again. Then Alan Rickman shows up.

Sucks to be me.

Florence + the Machine – Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) Lyrics 13 years ago
I believe that this song is about someone who was just diagnosed with a devestating illness. I'm going to throw a little of personal experience here. OK here we go:

The singer has just returned home after recieving the news. She goes into the bathroom and looks in the mirror(the looking glass ). This illness is going to change her life (glamor fades). She takes the medication the doctor prescribed, but it doesn't work, it just makes her dizzy and confused (spinning slipping). She calls the doctor and tells him what happened (wrong pill). The doctor tells her of a clinical study and she agrees to participate( made the deal). She enters the study (offer up). Then she basically becomes a human lab rat (enough) but the meds she's given don't work (not enough) and she's sent to a specialty hospital. She's sick and scared (rabbit hearted girl) and is afraid of dying (final sacrifice) she prays that she gets her life back because her condition is getting.worse (raising up the offering). Her life she sees is a gift but the price is the study. The lamb and knife refer to her. Midas is God and she's praying for a normal life (gold in the sunlight). She feels alone even though she has friends and family (can't find you/see your face). The skyline are the windows of the hospital as she's being sent from test to test. Wishing she could brave this illness she steels herself and does what she has to do to get her life back (lion heart/fight) before this illness kills her(final sacrifice). She sheds her fears (skin). Blue and red water are symbolic of blood.(veins and arteries). She's going to fight this illness and get her life back (gift/price) no matter what.
