Jason has stated several times that he wrote this way back in his teen years about his relationship with Braeden. He said he played it for her and won her heart. He has also spoken several times about how he and Braeden went through a rough patch and broke up briefly before getting engaged. I think this is where the title comes from. It's about Jason being in two places and having to make a decision about whether to continue with the relationship or not.

I remember Jason talking about the influence of this song being someone who was close to him doing an unforgivable thing. I guess it's about his father.

This is definitely about Jason's father. Jason has said several times before that a lot of the songs on the Lifehouse album were influenced by what happened between him and his father. From what I've read, the two of them fell out in about 2002 and haven't spoken since then. Jason has also said that he's made peace in his heart with what happened and has left the ball in his dads court.

Whilst being influenced by the Allstate Teen Driving Program when writing this, Jason also wrote this about his friend Jeremy who died in a car accident in 1996 after falling asleep at the wheel. Apparently he had only just go his driving license prior to being killed. Jason has spoken several times how it ripped Jeremy's family apart for a long time.
