One of the best songs on Bubble & Scrape in my opinion, surprised that nobody's commented on this one. Seems pretty straight-forward to me though. A guy is bitterly accepting the fact that a girl that he loves isn't sure she feels the same way, and they're on the brink of breaking up. He realizes that even if he convinces her to stay, now that its out in the open, he'd live in fear of the eventual day, two years or two days from then, that she'd find another reason to leave. Despite how much he loves her, he reluctantly admits that if she wants to leave, she should. Guilting her into staying won't be good for either of them. He assures her that he'll eventually be ok, it could take two years or two days, but he has to move on from how he feels if she doesn't feel the same. Haven't we all been there? |
