This song is very much dream inspired, the lyrics reflect that throughout. So really the lyrics are describing a dreamscape. According to dreammoods.com a "Doll" in a dream refers to lightheartedness and fun. My understanding is, if that "Doll" is in a sad dream (or bad dream), the idea is turned on its head. Therefore, the dream becomes worse. Quite simple really. |

If my memory serves me correctly, I remember hearing Scooter say in an interview that this song is connected in some way to his mother being near death in a hospital. If you think about it, the song really could be about alcoholism. The video compliments that perspective very well. Especially when Scooter starts seeing visions and everyone's face gets all blurry near the end of the video. |
