The guitar in this song is HUGE. Only behind Celebrated Summer's opening riff in terms of pure, awesome, power. A sort of love song, definitely not formulaic, especially if it's really about alcohol too. You can hear Grant Hart the first two verses, but the last, and best, he's screaming to be heard and you can barely tell what he's saying. Despite caveats regarding the production if you got a problem with that, the song is near perfect, about as much so as Celebrated Summer. |

i have absolutely nothing of use to add. i mean, good things end. the opening riff to this, teen age riot, bastards of young, marquee moon, one more hour, etc... make me cum. unfortunately, riffs end. |

i'm aware this song is fairly self-explanatory, about several literal iterations of the only-existing-in-a-material-sense-but-still-impenetrable "concrete and barbed wire" dividing her from her lovers/those mean-ass dogs, but i swear i swear i swear on/to something/someone really important, this is the most perfectly generalized and optimistic perusal of modern political "debate" i've seen in my entire life |
