| As I was writing my other interpretation this one came to mind. It reminded me of my experience with being bipolar. I'm type 2, but even so, the ecstasy that come with the high blinds you to the dangers around you and the path of destruction you leave behind. But then the devastating lows. And then the meds which prevent you from being in the light. And you are tempted to stop taking it because you might not be able to get the high, but darn it your whole body remembers it. But you are now aware of the damage you've caused and now level headed, decide that you could end up destroying everything just to feel it again. But after a long while, the meds start working, and you can see the change yourself. Everything is so different when medicated. There's no light to blind you and so you can appreciate and understand things now because you can actually see. It's like you are seeing the world for the first time. Little by little you adjust to this new world which you accept it for what it is. And you find a sense of belonging which makes you feel connected to others. | |

I think it has to do with the loss of innocence. Once lost can you get it back? But most importantly, would you want to? I think her world was shattered, maybe she was blissfully naive and had an experience that shook her to her core and made her question everything. And so heavy with disillusionment and regret she falls from the cloud she was on. But once away from the blinding sunlight, she realizes that, if she were to go back, the glittering will blind her again but this time, the process will end up consuming what ever remained of her. So she chooses to surrender fully to this new reality only to discover that this different state of being has brought her something she didn't know she was looking for: fulfillment. She is now complete, her own person. She may have lost her place by the sun in the process, but she gained the universe. |
