It's an analogy between an act of sex and the spiritual battle between angels and Satan. I initially hated this song because not only does it seem to describe a sexual encounter, the music video depicts a young girl in conjunction with an enormous snake. I still kind of hate it, but I believe it means to say, that temptation is everywhere. You have to learn to make the right choices for yourself, no matter what circumstances you find yourself in, and no matter how many times you find yourself in those circumstances. Every other line is either a positive or negative statement, then the chorus asks "who's leading?" and then states that the only one who can lead this dance between right and wrong, is God. This can also suggest that good, bad, positive, negative, evil, etc...all of this is meaningless without God, for without God there is no dance. |
