I personally believe this song is about a man who's watching the person he loves die, right? It really seems like it. But it really doesn't have to be romantic. My mom's really sick lately, and this song makes me cry because I really understand those lyrics more than ever. Watching someone you love go away before you is the toughest thing anybody has to experience, and the sadness of the music only reflects it. This is a PERFECT song, in my opinion. Flawless. This is why I love NIN. |

I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong, but I always thought this was Brian talking about himself. Like, just an angry song to himself or something. Like the angry part says all the hateful shit, but he's rationalizing it with like... he didn't mean it. Inner turmoil and all that. And the "slackerbitch, faghag, etc." is what echoes in his brain- the things people might have called him in his life. I don't know, it just always came across angsty like that to me. Anyway, I fucking love this song... Placebo <3 |
