I took the reference to "sunday clothes" and "in the front row singing about how heaven calls" to interpret the song about Jenny a girl that the narrator grew up going to church with as a child. She ended up leaving the faith to find herself and then returned to the "flock" (wide eyed brothers running like Shepherds). |

I think this song is about a more experienced man (sinning hands) who didn't give enough thought to taking his lovers innocence. Perhaps he just didn't understand the magnitude of what it meant to her because he loved her but just had a different value system. She ended up marrying him, perhaps out of a form of guilt. She resented him and in the end he lost her. very sad. |
