| Ugly Casanova – Diggin' Holes Lyrics | 12 years ago |

From a Youtube comment: . ICgoateee 1 year ago I feel like those lyrics were talking about man-kind itself. Isaac Brock was a pretty hardcore misanthrope, and he talked a lot about the motionless of human kind as a collective. None of us have our own theories. We're all like little puppets, just playing out a show written by what we surround ourselves with, what we fill out heads with, and people we're close to. We have no ideas of our own. Or else there couldn't be Jews and Muslims. lol, people are just masses, their ideas are relative And as for my thoughts, "rhetoric and smalltalk are marching on and i probably am the biggest pawn cause i was quick to talk and the first to carry on well, what can you do" You can look at a leader and say oh... they are the ones doing the most to carry out the already scripted plan. Because the only reason you think the way you do is because you've surrounded yourself with information and people who change your mind and way of thinking. Thus, even if YOU were to be replaced at birth with someone completely different but they had the same upbringing, chances are they would be the same as you. From 'Blame Yourself': "I cannot blame you for you And you cannot blame me for the shit I do" Because you are what the world made you right? From 'Doin' the Cockroach': "You'll look in the mirror and say "My parents are still alive!"" Genetics, upbringing, the media. It all affects what you think and what you do. The lack of creativity because everything's been done before, The fact that we as humans have a hive mind. One says do this, and the others follow. Just look at the effect of the media. I don't know.. Maybe I'm just rambling now. |

| Eiffel 65 – Blue (Da Ba Dee) Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| I agree man. I remember hearing it when I was a kid and then it just randomly popped into my head and I looked it up again. I feel like the nonsense kinda takes away the seriousness of it. The first few seconds are really amazing though. I'm pretty sure I've been through depression but never diagnosed and that's the feeling I get from the beginning. I wish it was more serious. But it's still a good song. | |

Dude.. that is so... Amazing. I used to think I was a natural happy kinda guy and I had a band that would always cheer me up. Then I found Modest Mouse. I've always loved insanity and the darkness of it so maybe that's why I fell in love but I don't know. Nowadays I'm still ok. Not depressed or anything but I feel like Modest Mouse doesn't change my mood, it just makes me happy I'm sad. So I'd say I'm not as happy as I was though I love Modest Mouse and I don't want to give them up. I just kinda adapted my mindset. I don't know, maybe I'm just trying to find a scapegoat. But I like how you put it so it seems like in the end he is trying to lift his spirits not only for himself but to help everyone out. |

I think I read this somewhere on here but someone said it was like he was having a conversation with a therapist. That makes so much sense to me. Listening to it over and over I can picture him being depressed saying You can't make everyone happy and that the world is a sad place no matter how hard you try and the therapist replies: Well, you'd like to at least make yourself happy right? Trying to bring him out of depression. One of my favorites songs by one of the greatest bands out there! |

| Modest Mouse – Blame It on the Tetons Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
Blame it on the Tetons. Yeah, I need a scapegoat now. No my dog won't bite you, though it had the right to. You oughta give her credit 'cause she knows I would've let it happen. I believe it's about blaming our mothers (Tetons=Breast, the nipple that fed you as a baby) for raising us how we are. We blame the world for what it made us into because it's easier to blame others instead of yourself. The dog part is saying that he would let the dog bite you and the dog knows that but still chooses to not bite. Just because the dog can doesn't mean it's going to. It's being responsible. |
