I was just thinking, and I may be completely wrong on this but - it's a song about an affair! "He never ever saw it, coming at all" - quite obvious, his wife cheats and he never saw it coming, never thought she would do it etc. "And we're going to these meetings But we're not doing any meeting" They're talking to each other, trying to work it out or whatever but they actually don't meet/understand each other/ agree with each other etc. "And we're trying to be faithful, but we're Cheating, cheating, cheating" - again, a breakdown in the relationship "I'm the hero of the story, don't need to be saved" sounds to me like the "damsel in distress" or the heroine in every story usually gets saved by the hero, but if she's the hero of the story then obviously, she doesn't need to be saved! Which makes me think about the underlying meaning why she titled it hero... |
