Massive Attack – Teardrop Lyrics 12 years ago
"Love is a verb, love is a doing word." It's a song about sex, or making love. Pure and simple.

The singer really focusses on looking into the eyes of her lover. "Water is my eye, most fearful mirror." She sees her reflection in his eyes. "Black flowers blossom." His pupils dilate.

The "teardrop on the fire, of a confession," is the tears rolling down his burning cheeks as he confesses his love for her.

Shackleton – The Branch Is Weak Lyrics 13 years ago
It IS "the show-offs are easy," not sharks.

The samples in the main part of the track come from a public information film warning children against playing near water. The creepy voice belongs to Donald Pleasance, playing the part of a river "demon," sort of a Grim Reaper who lives near the water, and tempts children to their deaths.

"Show-offs" are easier for him to kill than "sensible children," he states later in a part that isn't sampled.

Very creepy film, and makes for a very creepy track.
