everytime I listen to this song I remember hunger games, it is because, in my opinion, this song talks about a person who loves someone, but this someone doesn't right back, like katniss and peeta. "i don't love you, but i always will" it's like "i don't love you the same way you love me, but i love you", like clary and simon, the mortal instruments. There's a live show video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uuEDrL_uIw) that I felt like this. He was singing to his wife while she was singing looking at him. Of course they are just friends and everything, but this song to me, is about ~not loving back~.
But I also have another interpretation, I imagine a impossible love, just like clary and jace of the mortal instruments, they thought they were brother and sister, when they say i don't love you, it's like ~I can't love you, but I always will~ you know? Or when they say ~I don't have a choice but I'd still choose you~ |
