I totally agree, when you listen to and read the lyrics very carefully this really does make sense, so does your explanation of the title. We learnt about slavery quite a bit in school last year and there are many references in the song that relate directly back to the experiences of slaves. Such a great song regardless of the meaning really. |

I'm pretty sure the lyrics in the last verse are: Home and then one I'm a vagabond It's always different I'm the one in love/who loved The first verse (My heart will never feel, will never see etc.) I'm pretty sure is trying to question the association between love and the heart, because the heart is merely an organ in the body and it cannot portray human emotions. Love is something of the soul, not an organ. |
