Grizzly Bear – Colorado Lyrics 13 years ago
This song reminds me of climbing. I'm not a climber per se, but I live in Colorado in a town that's full of climbers. I love going to the foothills and, pardon the hippie talk, making myself one with the land by running up the side of a mountain and scrambling around on the rocks. The feeling I get when I hear this song is just like the feeling I get when I'm alone on the Flatirons with nothing but me, the fresh air, and the sickening view of the city smog.
The song does make references to holding onto something--perhaps a person, perhaps a rock face.

Everyone's going to interpret this differently, but I don't think we need to limit our interpretations of songs to romance. To me, this song is about Colorado.
