The Black Keys – Run Right Back Lyrics

The Black Keys are a cool band. The song seems to be pretty straight forward to me - he's mesmerized by the girl he's in a relationship with. She's beautiful. Yet, their relationship is abusive: "explode", "electric shout", "I'm wounded". Despite this, he still stays with her. |

Weezer – Island In The Sun Lyrics

I'd like to think it is how the halcyon of an island/vacation are relaxing. However, to those that believe the song is referring to drugs, I can see that too. I can't control my brain" makes me think the island could be a metaphor for drugs.
Throw back to my Mary-Kate and Ashley days.. One of my favorite songs. |

Cults – Go Outside Lyrics

Sounds a lot like me and my sister.. total opposites. haha.
Well, I think the singer is realizing that their boyfriend/girlfriend is on a different page on them. The singer wants to explore new things, etc. (Could possibly be due to a big age gap between them.) The two have different interests and the singer realizes they should break up. |

I'd really love to know how Vampire Weekend gets their inspiration for their music. I love them, but no way would I have been able to put together some meaning tot his song without reading through these comments. |

Britney Spears – Everytime Lyrics

I love this song. I grew up listening to Britney, and I will always like her.
This song sounds very vulnerable. Like many have said, it's about her dependence on [Justin]. Though she has been doing some crazy things at the time the song was released, she still thinks about him. Also, she is apologizing for the pain she caused him. |

Lana Del Rey – Born to Die Lyrics

The religious correlations some of you have made is very interesting to me. I'm not a very religious person, so any religious allusions went right by by head. To me I got the feeling of "star-crossed" lovers.
It also makes me think of an abusive relationship - she describes herself at a very low point in the beginning, almost nearing death. Yet, though he makes her "sad" and "cry", she stays with him, even though the road is "tough" and "long." Or rather, she enjoys the time she does have with him because she knows their relationship is doomed either way.
Another thing that makes me think she is in a damaging relationship is when she says "You like your girls insane." To me, this makes it seem as if she was cheated on and/or her relationship with the person isn't very serious. |
