Oh my God. Yes! The hidden vocals in the last chorus! That makes the song! I am anxious for that part. It truly sounds like the finale, you know what I mean? I think its saying "Down with California" but I had to search it up. I saw an interview with Frusciante and he was talking about the backing vocals and guitar. He was saying: "doo doo doo de doo" while he was playing, but I highly doubt that's it. Reply back! -Lennon Marie (13 years old) |

By the Way Red Hot Chili Peppers -Lennon Marie (13 years old) **Well, let me just say this is such a well done song.** This may sound weird for a little girl to think this, but hey it's my idea. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Standin' in line to see the show tonight and there's a light on; heavy glow." ^^ I think this means that some man, (Or even Kiedis himself,) has been drinking heavily and is in line to get into a strip show. Once he gets in, the room is hazy with smoke, the lights are dim, and hes trying to drown out any of his sorrows in his drink. "By the way I tried to say I'd be there; Waiting for" ^^I think this represents ow his wife/girlfriend asked him to honor an important commitment because it means a lot to her. In the mean time, He does not honor the commitment and blows off the special occasion and she is so upset that she leaves him. Or it also could be that he forgot, or promised an important family member that he would be there for them, but he fails. Maybe that family member does not forgive him or passes away suddenly. *This may or may not represent the meaning of the song, but this is how I picture the song when I listen to it.* -Lennon Marie |

Hi! Here's my idea of the verse- Robert is isolated and alone most of the time because his father is always out late (Daddy works a long day, and he be coming home late, yeah he's coming home late.) from long days. His dinner is not cooked yet, still packed in ice (also reffering to being in the freezer or fridge.) , because no one is home to cook it and he is donewith it. -Lennon Marie |

If you are one of the billion people who think it's about the shooting- and violence- that most of us once had, Then here's what I had come up with: He is smoking a cigarette when his father comes home, late as usual. Robert is finally sick of him isolating him all the time, so he smokes his cigarette, and burns the house down with his cigarette while his father is still inside of it. He is saying "You must have lost your wits, yeah." Referring to how he did not see the signs of this coming, and how smart he really is now. This is just my idea of the verse(: -Lennon Marie (@kidrahul) |

Pumped Up Kicks -Foster the People Written by: Lennon Marie (13 years old.) You may think this story is about a boy named Robert who has found his fathers gun in his dads closet. Replying to the user below me, "And I don't even know what" is stating what is in the contents of the box. "The story is in third person, Robert being the main character. He finds his father's gun in "a box of fun things" Before the chorus, Robert is last told that he is coming for you, adding an odd pleasure to the song." Now, most people think this song is about school shootings and the Coloumbine (Colombine?) High school shooting, but that is not what it's about. Front man of the Band, Mark Foster, describes the song as "a lack of love, bullying; isolation." With Roberts dad gone all day, he is isolated alone. This song shows the problems of most children and Foster also claimed "I wrote this song to bring awareness to all of the bullying and some of the school shootings that have happened in the last generation." The song was not intended on supporting shooting or any acts of violence, but rather to bring awareness to the epidemic of the issues facing the world today. -Lennon Marie ,13 years. |
