This song, Gary has actually said it was about his parents, and that he was at their house one day while taking a break between finishing the album Everything Changes and writing for Nobody Else, and he found a whole lot of photos from when his parents first got together, and then when they first moved into a home together, then wedding photos and in the line "Are the faces on the lines of 2 young sons" is referencing to Gary and his brother. I adore this song!!!!!!! And it was my Mum's fave Take That song as well |

| I remember when I first listened to this song, I was 14, it was on a Saturday in June in 1995 (I know showing my age now hehe) but I remember being so moved by this song that I think I cried for about 5 days every time I heard it, even though I didn't know the full extent of being in love and being betrayed by someone I love who had been unfaithful unfortuntley I did experience being cheated on by the love of my love when I was 24, and I remember listening to that song again when I had experienced it and it had the same effect. | |

I did hear this was about Robbie Williams when he had his relapse, and Mark was reaching out as a friend and trying to put a positive on things saying: "You, you're such a big star to me, you're everything I wanna be" which is quoted with Rob's solo career. I love this song! I have been a massive Robbie fan since the 90's Take That days and this would be in my Top 3 Robbie songs, and I loved that they used it in Bridget Jones 2 as well. I love the lyrics especially: "No excuses, I won't apologize, or justify your lies, come to me, tell it to me, look me in the eyes" I think that would be someone who doesn't understand who he fully is as an entertainer and a real person away from the limelight as well. |

I have heard previous to this page that this song is about Nicole and this was in the last stages in their relationship when she was trying to hold on and he couldn't trust her anymore, after she aborted his child without him knowing. She was saying because of their on-off relationship that they were fatally flawed and he has commented in the past that when it comes to women he generally loses interest pretty quickly which could explain the line: "Well I'm easily bored is that ok?" And then it's gone to the "Screw you, I didn't like your taste anyway" which could be a stab about their private life and also just saying "It's Saturday I'll go out and find another you" meaning how replaceable she was. Great song, but sad as well, love the slide guitar in it as well |

I love this songs lyrics, it's says so much, I do agree with the comment that he is cynical about his profession about the whole merry go round of it all and especially with the drug reference to "There selling razorblades and mirrors in the street, I pray that when I'm coming down you'll be asleep" with temptation being so readily there. I think also with the industry references with "So write it on a Wednesday, mix it on a Thursday, buy a yacht by Sunday" is the industry and deadlines, get the song out as quick as you can, make the money. And with the reference to "I'm your son" meaning he's the publics son, and that we have to take him the way he is bad or good times. |

Love this song so much in fact that I have the 1st and 2nd verse lyrics tattooed on my left inner arm. My interpretation is that this song is about obsession is a relationship but there is resentment and hate as well, someone longing for a love but someone that they can control as well, but I think so much has gone on between them with the 2nd verse lyrics: "And sometimes I feel so sorry, I regret this hurting of you, but you made me so unhappy, I'd take my life and leave love with you" so being that desperately unhappy they'd rather end their life than be with that person a minute longer. I think it's about a guy who was with a girl and she died, and he was so wrapped up in the past and doesn't miss her but can't get over or fully deal with what happened, and then as the song goes on like in the 2nd verse with "I must reverse my life, I can't live in the past" is realizing it's time to move on and pick up the pieces of his life. The whole album tells the story but in the video clips "Love Goes Down" is part 1 and "She Said" is going through how he had a one night stand with a girl who was a fan and it meant more to her than him as her already has a missus, and because he doesn't feel the same way, she cries rape, and the song goes through the whole story how she's drunk on love/lust and he's saying: "What you saying girl it can't be right? How can you be in love with me? We only just met tonight" But he's expressing that she can't separate the man he is in real everyday life and the lyrics he is singing in his songs (refering to Love Goes Down) and he is sure she is more infatuated with the singer as opposed to the man. |

I love this song, and the lyrics ring true for anyone who has gone through a break up and when it seemed right at the time but to everyone around you, you are putting on the front that you are ok and fine, and that you arn't even giving that person another thought, and its when you are put in certain situations ("But I go out And I sit down, At a table set for two) That it makes you remember those rituals together and then other memories come up until you have the relisation that maybe you arn't over them, even though the other person treated you not the best, there is something that keeps you hanging on, because there is always that one person who gets under your skin |
