| @latino_keno yes, that's what I always understood as well. Thanks for clarifying. | |

@[ZEROpumpkins:45337] It is a cover of a Kim Fowley song, and was originally a throw-away B-side of the 7 inch single "Starpower". It was not on the original SST records album release in the 80s. I got into Sonic Youth in 1985, and since 1986 probably saw them 60 times or so, I'm even in their final video. In 1986 they did indeed have a Madonna fixation (listen to their cover "Into the Groovy"). On the Evol tour, Lee at a HUGE cassette boombox on stage, mic'd up. At the end of shows, he cranked up Madonna's "Live to Tell" as they left the stage. It was MAGIC! (In the 80s, they liked to venerate/deconstruct contemporary pop culture. It seemed weirdly revolutionary at the time). |

| @[Ryan:45336] W=BarkleyXCore Sonic Youth was on the indie label SST in 1986 when this came out. It was NOT on the original album, it was a B-side of the 7 inch single "Starpower". And SST gave the band full control. So you might as well say "Fuck Sonic Youth for following it up with..." | |
