Obviously Its become a cliche to say every song on California is about Tom... But certain lines in this song could point to it being about him... And I hold on tight But not enough to hold you back - It always felt like Mark and Travis became the driving force when Blink reformed, Tom loved what the band meant to people but his priorities became over things. 'It feels like the moon Is spinning off into outer space without you' - Tom being totally rapped up in 'to the stars media and ava.. 'I wish that we could save today But I know we can't stay the same, And I keep pushing you away' - Mark wishes Tom wanted the band as much as him but realises that it's never gonna be the same. 'Don't wait for me Don't wait for me' - I'm almost certain that we'll find out that Mark and Travis asked Tom how he would feel if they got Matt Skiba in to replace him...and this was it response... 'Home is such a lonely place without you' - Home becomes a metaphor for Blink itself. Blink, the home they all built together is lonely place without Tom.. Just my take on the song... |
