the people that typically demonize Courtney love, amy winehouse are not going to be the same people who praise kurt cobain and jimi hedrix. or if they do its certainly not for the partying and doing drugs aspect, love and winehouse constantly acted drunk or embarresed themselves in public/media and people naturally hold less respect for that, but you your right them being female no way helped peoples perception of the two. the main point of this song i my eyes is living the scene well past ones prime when others the same age have started settling down and start families and yet she still doesnt give a fuck ("And if she had to live it all over again you know she wouldn't change anything for the world") and still does exactly what she wants even though granted their are some down sides("You know there ain't no johnny coming home to share a bed with her") regardless of all that this is one of my all time favorite songs, EVERY line in this song from "She keeps on working for that minimum As if a high school education gave you any other options" to "They don't know nothing about redemption They don't know nothing about recovery Some people just aren't the type for marriage and family" remind me of my mom. from all her past drug use (98% being meth and anyone whos done it knows it was made to party on) and current use certainly hasn't molded fer life to fit societies norms but she has allways and allways will do what she wants to do and give the bird to those who dont agree. shes allways fought for whats hers tooth and nail and never lets anyone tell her different. ok im done with my rant im abit drunk, when i first heard this tho i damn near broke down crying in my car but by the time it ended i had to call my mom and tell hers shes awesome haha |
