Dire Straits – Industrial Disease Lyrics 11 years ago
This song is written about economic 'freeze' in the early 80's and now 30 years later this song still has its sharp meaning. The collapse of the banks is Iceland and the protest in front of their parliament and nobody tells the whole truth, and blame each other - They're pointing out the enemy to keep you deaf and blind - Great song

Dire Straits – In The Gallery Lyrics 11 years ago
MK is very inspired my his background, so I would think this has something to do with the coal miners and also criticism of people labeling art. He said in an interview on a Hungarian radio station about the Privateering album he did like to label his songs or albums. He didn't sit down and write a blues album or jazz album. The album just has songs that are recorded at the same time.

Dire Straits – Brothers In Arms Lyrics 11 years ago
I think what MK says there sums up some of the comments: the idea comes from the Falkland war and MK connects that with something that his father, a Jewish survivor, had said to him about the WWII.

I remember when I was younger (not so long go) I was reading the second fictional novel about Artemis Fowl and while I was reading I had the Brothers in Arms album on repeat. Thinking back now the line -We got just one world but we live in different ones - fitted very well to the story line of the book where elves are fighting with an Irish lad against the Russian mafia.
