Jeff Buckley – Lover, You Should've Come Over Lyrics 12 years ago
That's when it got me - I had listened to the album many many times beforehand but it was only then that the song really hit me. The "its never over" section can reduce me to tears even now.

Jeff Buckley – Lover, You Should've Come Over Lyrics 12 years ago
wow, i had never thought that before. I had always seen the "damage" as the ruination of a relationship with someone he truly loved. The fact that he wonders wether he will ever see her return supports this. But the line/title "... you should have come over" is mysterious and could support your theory I suppose
my all time favourite song

The Wedding Present – Brassneck Lyrics 12 years ago
Dave Gedge grew up in Middleton, Manchester and is a Man Utd fan. He was however born in Leeds and went to Leeds Uni (Maths) where he formed The Lost Pandas and then The Wedding Present.
The song is not about Sally though I suspect. That came later

The Wedding Present – A Million Miles Lyrics 12 years ago
I love the song but I have never been sure that the sentiments are quite so sweet. Or perhaps they are - in that this is a story of a first romantic/sexual experience. The opening verses suggest young love but the closing lines might suggest a degree a braggadocio - a young man who can't wait to tell a freind about his conquest? And the final line?
By the way, I have submitted an edit. The lyrics posted are pretty accurate but the verse/chorus sequence is slightly out

Local H – Smothered in Hugs (Guided By Voices cover) Lyrics 13 years ago
It about Bob in his former life as a school teacher. He is talking to himself when he says" I believed you". Its about leaving all that behind and following his dream. He believes in himslef if no-one else does.
These lyrics are wrong by the way [I am new here so not sure how I post the correct lyrics] and the give away line is missing
"Which way will we go now, on our trip to taller windows"
It is a beautiful beautiful song.
