In this song Susie discusses all the downfalls and misunderstandings about love, hate and life. How its so easy to give up then to try or hate someone instead of fall in love. In this song I think the word light is used meaning "weight" being that, the person is a weight lifted off of her shoulders. So even though Susie explains life to being difficult/challenging she then admits that her "loved one" is basically her support system. She doesn't know how but their love comforts and humbles her.
