| New Order – Who's Joe? Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
Pretty sure that this song is a reference to the song "Hey Joe" made famous by Jimi Hendrix. That song is about a guy who kills his wife for messing around on him, and flees the country to Mexico to avoid getting hung. "Who's Joe" song maybe a kind of sequel, perhaps from the point of view of a family member who tries to find him later. "You had your heart broke by a woman," "now it doesn't work anymore." (refers to the woman that he killed) "She said that you had it coming, that you were no good from the start." (his wife may have said that he was no good and deserved to be cheated on) In the song "Hey Joe", Joe goes to Mexico and is never heard from again. This song seems to be dealing with the idea of finding Joe years later. |
