I think this song is about a guy in a relationship, who get's drunk ('Fuck it, it's such a blur") and has sex with another girl. ("Let me go in her room") and ("I wanna take off her clothes") are examples of his drunk-self trying to take control (his drunk thoughts). Then, his girlfriend and him break up because of this. He tries to blame the girl he had sex with for leading him on ("How can you say you meant anything different to anyone standing alone on the street with a cigarette on the first night we met") Then, he is thinking of his ex-girlfriend and how much he hurt her, but he remembers her being happy at one point ("Look to the past and remember her smile"), and he feels relieved ("And maybe tonight, I can breathe for awhile") |
